I am looking to buy a fish aquarium. I have looked on craigslist, and found a nice tank that I want. The only problem is, is that it was a saltwater aquarium. Can I clean it and use it as a freshwater tank? Or will it kill my fish? If you need aquarium salt for some freshwater fish, will it be ok?

It’ll be fine. Just make sure you wash it thoroughly and to not use the same filter cartridges.
yes you can … my first 30 gallon tank ran as a salt water tank for years before i got it … i rinsed it out and filled it up and all was well … very few fish require aquarium salt but if you do have fish that need it, it won’t be a problem …
Yes you can, all ya need to do is rinse it out one or two times, making sure you clean out the insides of the filter too. Also, when you asked: If you need aquarium salt fo some freshwater fish, will it be ok?, I’m guessing you meant aquarium salt to help cure disease, that’s fine, but if you plan on putting mollies in, you need to use marine salt, probably on about a tablespoon per two gallons of water, these fish need salt because they live in an environment called brackish water which is a mix of salt and freshwater combined. If you have any other questions ask hear or always join a fish forum; two great ones are fishlore.com and I HIGHLY recommend badmanstropicalfish.com. Good luck and I hope I helped!!
Yes, you can, just wash it thouroghly without soap. Use warm water to kill bacteria and have fun with your new tank!
